1. General Nature of Information

Tax-Copilot (the "Software") is a self-service tool designed to assist users in tracking income and expenses, and estimating potential GST and income tax liabilities. The Software provides general information only and is not a substitute for professional tax advice.

SysRidge is not a registered tax agent, qualified accountant, or legal advisor. The calculations, reports, and data generated by the Software are for informational and estimation purposes only.

2. Accuracy & Tax Rate Disclaimer

While we strive for accuracy based on the 2025-26 Australian financial year tax rates, we make no guarantee that the rates, thresholds, or calculation methods used in the Software reflect the most current ATO legislation. Australian tax laws are subject to change at any time, and the Software may not immediately reflect such changes.

Key rates used in this Software include but are not limited to:

Resident individual tax brackets (16% / 30% / 37% / 45%)
Working Holiday Maker rates (15% flat on first $45,000)
Company base rate (25% for Base Rate Entities)
Medicare Levy (2%) and Medicare Levy Surcharge (1.0% – 1.5%)
HECS/HELP repayment thresholds and marginal rates
GST calculation (1/11th of GST-inclusive amounts)

3. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law (including the Australian Consumer Law), SysRidge shall not be liable for any:

Tax penalties, interest, or fines imposed on you by the ATO or any other authority as a result of using the Software.
Financial losses, loss of profits, or business interruptions arising from reliance on the Software's calculations.
Errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in the Software's tax calculation logic, even if caused by software bugs, outdated tax bracket information, or incorrect data input.
Loss of data resulting from system failures, server outages, or unforeseen technical issues.

The Software is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

4. User Responsibilities & Data Accuracy

By using this Software, you acknowledge and agree that:

Input Accuracy: You are solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the income, expense, and personal data you enter into the Software.
Manual Verification: You must independently verify all calculations, tax estimates, and GST figures before submitting any figures to the ATO or any other regulatory body.
Professional Advice: You should consult with a qualified tax professional before making any financial decisions or lodging tax returns based on the information provided by this Software.
Document Retention: You are responsible for keeping original receipts and records for the period required by the ATO (typically 5 years from the date of lodgement).
Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

5. No Guarantee of ATO Acceptance

The ATO may have different interpretations of tax law than the logic implemented in this Software. Use of this Software does not guarantee that your tax returns will be accepted by the ATO, that you will receive a particular refund amount, or that you will not be subject to an audit or review.

6. Privacy and Data Security

Your use of the Software is subject to our Privacy Policy. We store your data securely using industry-standard encryption and third-party hosting providers. While we implement robust security measures, including JWT-based authentication and encrypted database connections, we cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted over the internet.

We do not sell, share, or disclose your personal or financial data to third parties, except as required by law.

7. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in and to the Software, including but not limited to its code, design, branding, and documentation, are and will remain the exclusive property of SysRidge.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Software at any time, without prior notice, for any reason, including but not limited to a breach of these Terms.

9. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Queensland, Australia. You irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that State and any courts of appeal from them.
